Carpentry

My interest in carpentry started at a young age by watching PBS “This Old House” with Norm Abram and crew, as well as Bob Vila’s “Home Again”. Watching these shows struck a cord, definitely unlocked a desire to work with my hands and express my creativity through them. It didn’t take long to love it watching these guys create, I couldn’t get enough . The week in between episodes felt like time slowed down.

This occupation has been a joy to develop, so many ways to customize your environment and building practices there is always something to learn. Whether its a new material or building method there is always something new or new to me that peaks my interest. That has led me to want to learn as much as I can. I started helping my Dad, Bruce, around the house and then on jobs he picked up in the summer. The first project we did was shingling our family home at twelve, then more roofing projects and exteriors for clients. We would also do landscaping together and whatever else I could help him with. Later on I would go off on my own to learn how to frame, drywall and mud, decking, concrete, tile, finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, floating shelves, book shelves, custom doors, crown molding, an art light and everything in between. Essentially whatever that can be customized around your home I can make unique to reflect who you are.

Furniture

Small or large custom furniture is a passion of mine. The potentiality of outcome by the combination of a wide variety of elements coming together to express the collaboration between two creative minds. This process is about as close to magic as I can imagine. It makes me think of something similar to cooking or the fermentation process. The combination a few elements or ingredients. For example, relating to building; it starts with the idea, then selecting materials, combined with my knowledge of building methods and materials. Giving all those elements a little time and the right environment the finished product ends up to be more than the initial ingredients.

Handyman

A leaky faucet or old toilet can waste a lot of time and energy for any residence. An uneven floor can be a trip hazard. A exterior downspout improperly placed can cause damage to the interior and exterior of your home. Time to replace a leaking window or door that needs to be replaced, and on and on it goes. These are just a few of the common items on the maintenance list that needs to be kept up with over time as a home owner.

Having experience in residential and commercial building maintenance I’ve gained a vast understanding of different materials, building and fabricating methods, and which is the best option for you to solve issues quickly and successfully.

experienced in:

The list is so long over the twenty years I don’t remember all the things I can do, honestly, but if you have a need or idea there is a good chance I have done it, done something similar, or can figure it out what needs to be done. If you have a need and don’t know where to start, contacting me would be a great start!

Down to the last detail…thats a promise.

There are so many ways to customize or personalize your environment and finding the right person can be hard to find. I have that attention to detail and the patience to execute on a high level, a smooth is fast approach. This might have been the most surprising thing to learn over the years, told to me by other contractors on the jobs, is that my patience and focus is at a higher level than other carpenters. I have never uttered the phase “you can’t see it from my house” to describe the quality of my work. The experience I have accumulated has provided me with the dedication to quality work and a job well done.
